When crushing granite, the service life of the liner plates depends on their material, the type of crusher, the hardness of the granite, the size of the pieces and the operating conditions. Adjusting the clearance increases service life by 18%; it is recommended to check for wear every 200 hours.

The concrete crushing hammer set processes 1,200–1,800 tonnes; its service life depends on the size of the rubble, impurities, feed rate and concrete grade, and measures are in place to extend it.

Ceramic beads in ball mills last 2.8–3.4 times longer than high-chromium beads under standard conditions; they offer greater resistance to wear and impact, with the difference depending on the hardness of the raw material and the temperature.

When the SiO₂ content exceeds 40%, the service life of the bil is 1,200–1,800 hours. This is influenced by temperature, loads and maintenance; the critical threshold for SiO₂ is 45%; the variation among certified manufacturers is no more than 12%.

The service life of the hammers in rotary crushers for limestone is 80–120 thousand tonnes, depending on the hardness of the raw material, particle size and moisture content. The service life can be extended by adjusting the clearance, using chrome-plated hammers and replacing them in good time. The figures given are for the PF-1214, PF-1315 and PF-1520 models.

The mobile crusher can be connected to a 400 V supply without a generator: the line has a power reserve of ≥15%, a voltage deviation of ±5%; a circuit breaker rated at 2.5–3 times the current is installed, and the adjacent load is ≤20% of the line’s capacity.

To start up a mobile crusher, a mains power supply of 85–320 kW is required, taking into account starting currents, auxiliary systems and a safety margin; for different models, the recommended mains power supply ranges from 250 to 2,457 kW, with allowances made for starting equipment and temperature.

According to tests carried out in 2024–2025, the electric drive for a mobile crusher is cheaper than a diesel one: 9.6–14.3 euros per tonne compared with 18.2–24.7 euros per tonne, with the exception of areas without a stable electricity supply.

A fully electric 300 t/h crusher consumes 110–160 kWh/t (averaging 135 kWh/t for granite), with an idle consumption of 22–28 kWh. Moist raw material increases energy consumption by 12–18%, whilst limestone reduces it by 20–25%.

Crushing one tonne of limestone requires 1.2–3.8 kWh; energy consumption depends on the type of crusher, the properties of the limestone, the plant’s operating mode and external conditions.
