The material determines the service life of the component. For working with soft, non-abrasive rock types, high-manganese steel hammers are suitable, as they withstand impact loads well. When machining hard, abrasive materials, it is advisable to choose components made from alloys containing chromium or tungsten carbides, as these offer significantly greater resistance to wear.
Each model of rotary crusher has its own specific mounting parameters, geometry and weight of the hammers. A discrepancy of even a few millimetres will cause the rotor to become unbalanced, leading to vibrations that will damage the bearings and the machine housing. Always check the part number against the manufacturer’s recommendations for your specific unit.
It is not worth going for excessively cheap blades of dubious origin, as their service life often turns out to be two to three times shorter than that of certified equivalents.
