Expenditure on liners accounts for the largest share of the overall cost structure, amounting to 57 per cent of the total annual expenditure, based on actual data from 2025 for jaw crushers operating regularly for 8 hours a day. Lining accounts for 32 per cent of the total annual procurement cost, as confirmed by the official specifications of mid-range equipment manufacturers. When the operating hours are increased to 16 hours per day, annual costs rise by 89 per cent, according to calculated figures derived from data on the wear rate of components under a constant load. When working with abrasive materials with a Mohs hardness rating above 6, total costs increase by 47 per cent, according to actual data from field trials conducted in 2024. Failure to carry out scheduled maintenance every three months leads to a 62 per cent increase in costs, as recorded in operational reports from industrial sites in Central Russia.
Blades for standard-type crushers require replacement every 1,400 operating hours, which is in line with the official specifications of the equipment manufacturers. The wear chamber linings have a service life of 2,100 operating hours, based on actual test data obtained whilst processing 5–20 mm granite aggregate. The bearings in the drive assemblies are replaced every 4,200 operating hours, which is the engineering reference range for units lubricated regularly every 14 days.
