Stone crusher specifications: which parameters are important and how to choose the right one

When selecting a rock crusher, it is important to take into account its throughput capacity for the raw material, the output particle size, energy consumption, the service life of components, installation dimensions, as well as noise and dust levels to ensure compliance with regulations.

The choice of a stone crusher depends directly on its technical specifications, which determine its throughput, service life and operational efficiency. Selecting the right key parameters helps to avoid unnecessary costs and ensures the consistent processing of raw materials into the required particle size.

Capacity and type of raw material

This parameter reflects the amount of stone that the machinery processes per hour and is selected to suit production volumes. It is also important to take into account the hardness and moisture content of the raw material: for hard granite, machinery with a higher safety margin is required, whilst lighter models are suitable for soft limestone.

Output fraction range

Each crusher produces end-product material of a specific particle size; this range must strictly comply with the requirements of your production process. Adjusting the size of the discharge opening allows you to tailor the particle size to your current requirements without having to replace the main equipment.

Power consumption and service life of components

Operational efficiency is directly linked to electricity consumption per tonne of processed raw material; energy-efficient models significantly reduce regular running costs. The wear resistance of the crushing components – jaws, plates and hammers – is also important: the longer their service life, the less frequently costly repairs and part replacements are required.

Dimensions and installation requirements

The installation parameters must be compatible with the available space at the production site, as well as with the weight restrictions of the foundation. For mobile crushing plants, additional consideration is given to the possibility of transporting them between sites without the need for complex dismantling of the equipment.

Noise and dust levels

Modern models are fitted with dust suppression and vibration reduction systems, enabling compliance with health and safety regulations at the workplace. This is particularly important when working indoors or near residential areas, where permissible levels of harmful effects on staff and the environment are strictly limited.
