Purchasing a crushing and screening plant is a decision on which the efficiency of the entire production line depends, so it is important to choose an option offering the best balance of price and functionality, whilst also taking into account the specific nature of your own production requirements, to avoid overpaying for unnecessary options and facing a lack of capacity during operation.
Before looking for a suitable plant, you need to clearly define the parameters of the raw material to be processed: its hardness, feed size, the required throughput in tonnes per hour, and the required output fractions. It is also worth assessing the site conditions: the availability of an electricity supply, the space required for installation, and accessibility for maintenance. This information will immediately rule out unsuitable options and prevent you from overpaying for unnecessary features that you will not need for your specific workload.
Don’t just go for the lowest price: reputable manufacturers use wear-resistant alloys for the crushing elements, which extends the system’s service life by 2–3 times compared to budget alternatives. Be sure to check whether there is an official after-sales service in your region: the inability to obtain spare parts quickly or call out a technician for repairs could lead to production downtime lasting weeks and result in much greater losses than the difference in purchase price.
The best value option is to buy directly from the official manufacturer, without intermediaries who add a commission of 15–30% to the price. It is also worth keeping an eye out for seasonal promotions run by manufacturers during periods of low demand, as well as opportunities to purchase tried-and-tested demonstration units, which have already been tested in operation and are 20–40% cheaper than new ones, whilst retaining the manufacturer’s full warranty coverage.
Before signing the contract, be sure to ask if you can test the system using your own raw materials to ensure that it produces the required fractions and meets the stated capacity. You should also carefully review the warranty terms: it must cover not only the main components but also wear-resistant parts for at least 1,000 hours of operation. Don’t forget to clarify what is included in the supply price: installation, commissioning and staff training are often charged for separately, which can result in unexpected costs.
